‘How long have you been picking girls up on Broad Street?’ She finally asked.
‘One month,’ Tony responded but seeing the expression on the girl’s face, he quickly corrected himself ‘Six months’
Tony had never been a Wimp. He was Five feet, eleven inches in height and he was sturdy. He had been into sports and weight lifting since his High school days and now he had taken up martial arts. He had been in a few fights on and off the mat and he was proud of his achievements. Read more

The traffic was light but Tony wasn’t in a hurry. It was Friday evening and he had just closed from work. He drove slowly, almost crawling, as his eyes cased the sides of the road filled with commuters eagerly waiting for a bus or taxi to get them out of the Lagos Island before dark.
Toni, a young lawyer, still single at 30, was on the look out for any beautiful lady he could give a lift. It wasn’t his first time, in fact it had developed into something of a habit. He had discovered that offering girls a lift out of the Lagos Island after working hours was a great way to meet new girls regularly! Read more

“In 1951, my grandfather passed part 1 of his Bar exams after his third trial. For some strange reason, the Law of Equity was a problem. He was working as a Bell Hop and studying at the same time. It was too tough for him. He found it difficult to stay awake to study at night. If he failed a third time, he would have to withdraw from the University and that would be devastating. Read more

“You mean curses are real?” she asked starry eyed. With both hands firmly clasping her head, she didn’t look so corporate now.
“Curses are real and it makes no difference that you are innocent. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that five sisters in a family are still single and you are the youngest at 33!”
“But I am Christian” Shade protested “My Pastor said old things are passed away and I don’t have to bother about things like curses!”
I could see tear drops starting to form around her lovely eyes. She obviously was getting more confused. Read more
Getting it Right
‘How do you turn back the hand of the clock fourteen years?’
I looked at James and I didn’t know what to say. He looked so sad and dejected that I really wished I had something to say. That’s one sad thing about counseling for me. Sometimes you really don’t have all the answers. I doubt if I will ever forget my session with James. Read more
Where did I go wrong? (6)
Perhaps she was taking things too much for granted. Angela turned towards Mary and screamed at her,
“Don’t you take a step farther!”
Mary stopped dead in her tracks. Again the thought crossed her mind that Angela could end up killing Timmy but she couldn’t afford to dwell on the thought.
“Angela, you have to put the gun down,’ Mary pleaded carefully.
“Yes, put the gun down” Timmy agreed in a shaky voice. He was simply terrified! Angela had always been docile! Where did she get the gun from, he wondered.!
Again the telephone interrupted Angela’s plans. Timmy’s phone started beeping the Nokia tune!
Instinctively, he reached for the phone and succeeded in getting it out of his jacket before Angela snarled at him
“Are you crazy?”
Timmy literally dropped the phone which skidded on the floor and landed at Angela’s feet!
Angela looked down at the phone and was shocked to see a familiar number displayed. She picked the phone up. Flipped it open and spoke into it.
“Hi, Dad. Timmy is not here right now.”
Angela’s father was surprised to hear his daughter’s voice”
“Hello sweetheart. I was trying to reach you actually. Did you switch your phone off?”
“Yeah, sort of” Angela replied. She was glad to hear her father’s voice. “Is mum there?”
“Your mum is fine but we need to talk. When can you come over?”
“Em, soon as I can,”
“Where are you?” The old man enquired.
“Out with friends.” Angela lied. “Can I talk to Mum now?”
“Hello baby” Angela’s mum exclaimed cheerfully over the phone
“Mum, I love you.”
“And I love you too.”
“Tell Dad I love him too”
The tone of Angela’s voice was enough to tell her mother that all was not well
“Angela, what’s wrong? Where are you? Thomas!” she screamed her husband’s name. She could sense that something was just not right even though she didn’t have a clue as to what it was!
Much later, it was impossible to explain what really happened! Suddenly, Darlene got up and headed for the door in a flash! Perhaps she thought the phone call had made Angela lose concentration and she could get away!
At the same time, Timmy got up and made for Angela! Again, nobody could really explain why he did that!
As Angela turned towards Timmy, the phone fell from her hand and the gun went off!

7 worst reasons for dating!
7 WRONG REASONS FOR DATING!
Dating is going out on a pre-arranged date. It means going out to a specific place with someone. You are on a date when you go with someone or a group of people to the Cinema, a Concert, an Eatery, Restaurant or party. There are no strings attached to these dates and you can go on dates with as many people as you desire. You don’t belong to anyone and no one belongs to you. You are just friends! Dating normally leads to courtship.
Different folks have different reasons for going out on dates. In this Valentine Season, we give you 7 WRONG reasons for dating. Check them out!
1. YOUR FRIENDS ARE DATING:
Even if all your friends are married or hooked up, it’s not a good reason to get on the dating train. The fact that everyone thinks you should be married by now is also not a good reason to start dating. Dating is serious business because it leads to courtship, which leads to marriage.
Take your time and do not be pressured into dating. Make sure you are ready before you start dating!
2. YOU DON’T WANT TO BE ALONE ANYMORE:
If you’re the sort that is tired of sitting at home on Saturday nights, this is not a good reason to start dating. You must learn to enjoy your own company and the company of members of your family. This will help you to enjoy the company of others when you start dating.
3. PEOPLE ARE ASKING YOU OUT:
This is definitely not a good reason to start dating, even if it’s Valentine’s Day! If you say ‘Yes’ to everyone in your life, you will live a miserable life. Be sure you are ready to date and before you start saying ‘Yes’ and be sure to date only your friends!
4. YOU ARE OLD ENOUGH TO DATE!
I’ve always said no one should start dating until they are physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually mature! People mature at different times. So you can’t have the ‘right age’ to start dating! If you date before you are mature along these lines you’re going to have a difficult time in your relationships!
5. YOU NEED SOMEONE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY!
If you believe that another human being will make you happy, you will end up disappointed all the time! Get real. No human being can give you true happiness because no one is perfect! You have to learn to be happy by yourself.
You won’t believe just how much unhappiness dating can sometimes bring until you start dating. Dating is not all roses and candy!
6. YOU NEED ‘SPECIAL FAVOURS’
In this crazy world ‘special favours’ can range from promotion at work to getting high grades in school. If you’re someone who dates to win favours, you’ve cheap and your games will catch up with you someday!
Your dates may think you are really interested in them and not realize that you are after something else. Someone is gonna get hurt sooner or later when the truth is discovered. Learn to be principled and work your way up the ladder!
7. SOMEONE IS MATCHMAKING:
The fact that someone (Your Mum, Uncle, Aunt, Sibling or friend) thinks they’ve found the perfect match for you is definitely not a good reason to start dating!
You should have your own criteria for a good date. If you date just to make someone else happy, you’ll end up with lots of regret!
Conclusion: The general idea is, don’t be under pressure to start dating. The only reason you should date is because you want to date. Get educated on love relationships before you even start dating. That way, you’ll get it right and you won’t end up with a broken heart or worse!

7 WRONG REASONS FOR DATING!
Where did I go wrong? (2)
NB: Please read Part 1 of this article for better understanding
Timmy went home that day and apologized to Angela for all the grief he had caused her! He told her he had seen the error of his ways and he wanted to make amends. Angela couldn’t believe it. There had to be a catch. She had never seen Timmy appear so repentant!
When Timmy saw that she was having difficulty believing him, he said he had become a Christian and repented of all his sins! That made sense to Angela who had been spending hours before the TV watching Televangelists! She had been praying that God would intervene in her situation. Could this be the answer to her prayers?
Since no one had told her about her Dad’s meeting with Timmy, she was inclined to believe that God had given her a miracle!
Now she could see that the miracle had lasted for just two months! She had to face the truth. Timmy had gone back to his old ways! Biting her fingers, she wondered how Timmy could have succeeded in deceiving her to start with. If only she had listened to her Dad who had always believed that Timmy was a never do well! Unfortunately however, her mum too had been taken in by Timmy’s charm!
So what could she do? She lifted herself up from the pile of clothes and headed for the Kitchen. It was 10.00am on Saturday morning and Timmy was supposed to be playing Golf at the club. She knew better. He was probably holed up with some girl somewhere! Timmy’s mug was on the kitchen table as Angela walked into the kitchen. Without thinking, she picked the mug up and threw it against the wall, shattering it to pieces!
Angela stood gazing at the shattered pieces on the floor for a few minutes. She had not realized that she harbored such misgivings to warrant a display of violent anger! It began to dawn on her that she felt cheated by Timmy and she actually wouldn’t mind hurting him too!
He had taken her, an innocent girl and ruined her life! Even though she would prefer to leave him, she knew her father would never allow it. He was a strong Catholic and he would consider Divorce a scandal.
It was then that the idea occurred to her. Since he took great joy in running around, why not incapacitate him! If he couldn’t run around wouldn’t he sit down with her?
It took two weeks to make her mind up. Angela, like all Melancholies can be cold and calculating when it comes to taking revenge. Unlike Sanguine, they do not flare up in sudden bursts of anger. It takes time for their anger to boil over but when that happens, the consequences can be devastating.
Angela located the Apartment of Darlene quite easily. All she had to do was drive at a safe distance behind Timmy early on a Saturday morning when he was supposed to be on his way to the Club to play Golf!
The following day, during her break time, she went over to the Apartment block and knocked on a door on the ground floor. An elderly lady peeped from brhind the security chain.
‘Is Darlene home? she asked the old lady
‘You want Apartment Eight on the second floor, the lady replied with a kind smile.
Angela thanked her and walked off quickly. This was not the day.
Three days later after confirming that Timmy would be at the office until very late, she drove over to Darlene’s place. She had noosed around the neighborhood to find out some things about the girl. She lived alone and was normally back from work by 7.00pm. Angela knocked at her door at 7.15pm and waited patiently.
Obviously the girl didn’t know who Angela was. She looked about twenty two with wide starry eyes and very long black hair. She must have just gotten out of the shower because she had her bath robe on.
‘Yes, can I help you? She asked angling her head to one side
‘You don’t know me but we have to talk. I’m Timmy’s wife. Angela announced watching for her reaction
Darlene blushed from head to toe and quickly threw the door open.
Angela walked into a cozy flat that was tastefully furnished. Darlene waved at a chair and sat quietly staring at the floor!
Angela was surprised. She had expected a wanton Adulteress not an innocent looking Kitten! It was too late to go back now anyhow. The girl obviously knew Timmy was married.
‘You’ve been sleeping with my husband. You’ve torn my home apart! Are you someone I hurt in some past or previous existence?
Darlene sat just staring at the floor
‘Well, what do you have to say for yourself? Angela opened her bag and put her hand inside but didn’t bring anything out. She had a Gun in the bag but she didn’t want to bring it out just yet. The gesture was to make the girl know that she had something harmful in the bag! She could feel anger rising up within her as her hands touched the cold but of the Gun.
Darlene’s eyes went to the bag and she shifted nervously on her chair. ‘You have to believe me,’ she began. ‘I didn’t mean to hurt you. He told me that his marriage was over and that you had agreed to a divorce! He said you were seeing someone else and you wanted out of the marriage!

WHERE DID I GO WRONG? (2)
Where did I go wrong?
Angela stood examining her husband’s shirt for close to two minutes. She wasn’t mistaken. The red stains were lipstick stains! She sniffed at the shirt. Strange perfume! She dropped the shirt on the Laundry pile slowly and sank into the dirty pile. She was feeling so weak that she just had to sit down! Soon she was lying on the clothes completely oblivious of her environment as gentle tears ran down her pretty face into the clothes.
Angela and Timmy had been married for three years. For Angela, it had been three years of sorrow pain and tears! Timmy always was a ladies man. For that reason, it took Angela quite some time to take his advances serious.
Finally, after about six months, when it seemed he had really gotten rid of his string of girlfriends, Angela let her guard down. Maybe he really loved her. She knew how tough it must have been to get rid of the others. Timmy informed her of his struggles often enough!
But barely a month after their marriage, Angela started noticing tell-tale signs! Either Timmy had fooled her or he had re-established his old links! Strange calls would come in on his phone at the oddest hours and he would ignore the calls or rush into the bathroom to take them! She was forbidden to take his calls!
‘It could be a call from an old girlfriend and I wouldn’t want you to be embarrassed. Some of these girls can be really nasty! Timmy explained.
One day, Timmy rushed out of the house and left his phone. Angela found it and dropped it in her bag along with her own phone with the intention of going over to his office during her Break time to give him the phone. In the car, she heard tones alerting her of incoming messages on the phone.
At the office, she brought out her phone and found no messages! Then she remembered that she had Timmy’s phone. She brought it out of her bag and found that he had four messages. She wanted to put the phone back but curiosity got the better of her and she decided to check the messages. She would simply wipe them all off and Timmy wouldn’t know that the messages ever came in!
All the messages were from one Darlene. She wanted to know if she satisfied him last night and she promised him a wonderful time later that evening! Angela dropped the phone hurriedly. The messages were crystal clear. Timmy was supposed to have been at the office until late last night going through a Brief with a client! Apparently he must have been with this Darlene woman!
When Angela confronted Timmy later, it turned into a fight! Timmy accused her of violating his privacy and threatened to leave her if she ever tried it again! He walked out of the house and stayed away for two days!
Angela was so confused she almost became a nervous wreck! She was a virgin when she married Timmy and she was from a nice, stable religious home. She just didn’t have the faintest clue as to what to do. Talking to her parents was simply out of the question. Timmy had warned her of dire consequences if she dared hint her parents about what happened! From the rage he displayed before he stormed out of the house, Angela couldn’t take his words lightly.
For the next three years Angela lived in hell! Timmy was unrepentant and Angela began to prepare for the inevitable. She had to leave him. She was dying slowly and she knew she had better get out before her life was completely ruined! She lost so much weight that her parents and friends at work became really worried. Angela was an only child and even though her parents were familiar with her melancholy temperament, this was getting too far. She refused to tell them just what the matter was!
It was at this stage that Angela’s Dad decided to have a word with Timmy. He couldn’t get anything sensible from the young man but he could tell that there was something seriously wrong with their marriage. He never liked Timmy and he suspected that he was being unfaithful to his daughter. Without saying anything to Angela, he decided to hire a private Detective to find out if he was right!
It took the guy less than a week to get back! Angela’s father was disgusted. Timmy was a Hound Dog! He called Timmy over and gave him the length of his Tongue. He was a respected Judge and he assured Timmy that he would ensure that Timmy ended up behind bars for a long time if he didn’t mend his ways!
Timmy couldn’t believe it. He was prepared to shrug of the old man’s threat but the Judge asked him to speak with his Boss. Curious, Timmy asked his Boss casually if he was familiar with Angela’s Dad later that day.
‘Funny you should ask. The old man was asking me just yesterday how well you were doing. He’s one of our biggest shareholders. Didn’t you know?
Timmy was alarmed. Did Angela know? He wondered. Nobody told him! He could feel cold sweat forming on his brow. Life as a ladies’ man was expensive and Timmy had mismanaged some company funds! If he were found out, he would go to jail! With Angela’s Dad as a shareholder, he would surely go to jail for a long time!
‘I em, I saw him yesterday and he asked after you. I didn’t know you knew him personally. Timmy replied hurriedly.
He excused himself and rushed off to the Gents. All of a sudden, he felt he needed to take a leak!
WATCH OUT FOR THE CONCLUSION IN PART 2!
